The Adams dry fly is one of the most widely used trout flies in the world, and for good reason. The Female Adams has a yellow tag at the end of the body that may or may not imitate a female egg-sac, but, whatever it looks like, it is trout food! It is an excellent general imitation of adult mayfly duns or fluttering caddis adults, and is just plain buggy looking. A dozen or two Adams in sizes 10 through 20 is the basis of a well-stocked fly box!
