The Brown Stonefly imitates all the large to medium-sized brown to black stonefly nymphs including the Salmonfly. Fish them deep and dead drifted, especially in the spring. An excellent prospecting pattern when you aren't familiar with a river. Very popular as a dropper fly for West Coast steelhead fishing.
