The Bead Head Hare's Ear Nymph (also known as the Gold-Ribbed Hare's Ear) is tied with the buggy hairs and underfur from the ear and face area of the wild hare. Adding the bead head just added to its rock star power on the river. This classic nymph pattern has been around for a long time, and just keeps getting better. An effective general imitation of mayfly nymphs, especially Baetis, stonefly nymphs, caddis larvae, freshwater shrimp, or any of a dozen other forms of trout food.
